2 HOURS A general course to acquaint the student with the meaning, problems and scope of the recreation and leisure industry. We will provide an introduction to the history, philosophy and principles of recreation and the agencies providing recreation programs. An investigation into the professional employment opportunities in recreation including: commercial and tourism, inclusive and special recreation, therapeutic recreation service, community, state, federal and private recreation. The course will also provide insight into facility and personnel development, management and programming. (Spring)
