This course emphasizes the breadth of application of contemporary mathematics to modern society. It is intended primarily for the liberal arts major. Topics covered include charts, graphs, compound interest, problem solving, sets, logic, probability, and statistics. Preqrequisite: minimum ACT mathematics score of 16 and one unit of high school algebra, or satisfactory completion of MA 099. Not open to students with credit in MA 115 (prior to fall 1998).
