The chemical composition of the atmosphere will be considered with emphasis on trace gases, aerosols and particulates. Primary photochemical processes will be examined along with the transport and fate of toxic gases and hydrocarbons. The production and decomposition of ozone in both the troposphere and the stratosphere will be studied. Global models for the accumulation of greenhouse gases will be considered. Prerequisites: CH 381, 381L. (Fall)
