This class examines 20th Century American history through the comparison of classic film and literature. Emphasis is on development of awareness of the impact of film and literature on historical perspective and the resultant film will be analyzed against the broader scope of actual events. The class will provide a laboratory for examining societal changes in 20th Century America, as depicted by literature and film, including politics, economics, social values, and art.
