This course will explore the interrelationship among women, activism, and the environment. Combining approaches from the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities, this course will study basic concepts of environmental science, eco-feminism, and environmental policy and explore the role women have had and continue to have in raising and shaping environmental consciousness and policies. The course will also consider how these concepts affect/are affected by cultural concerns of race, class, gender, age, ability, and orientation. Students will gain practice in developing and practicing environmental activism.
