This course is an introduction to feminist theory and practice within the context of modern theatre. It focuses on the creative and political efforts of women playwrights and performers, acknowledging the voices of women that have ben historically forgotten or excluded from the canon of theatre. Students will be introduced to the field of feminist theory and its ongoing issues and debates as a lens through which theatrical writings and performances will be explored and analyzed.
