An examination of chaos, epistemological and linguistic relativism, fate, skill, and the character of the sage in perhaps the most significant of Chinese Taoist texts, the Chuang-tzu. Discussion of the structure and style of this literary masterpiece. Students with knowledge of classical Chinese may arrange additional work through special studies.
