Outside research, 3- 12 hours. Prerequisite(s): upper-division standing and consent of instructor. Independent work under the direction of members of the staff. The project may be undertaken as a one-, two-, or three-quarter sequence. In the case of a two- or three-quarter sequence, the final grade may be deferred until completion of the last quarter. Course is repeatable to a maximum of 12 units.
