Lecture, 3 hours; discussion, 1 hour; extra reading, 3 hours. Prerequisite(s): admission to the University Honors Program or consent of instructor. Honors course corresponding to POSC 005. An introductory study of the ideologies of the modern era. May explore selected thinkers and texts representative of liberalism, conservatism, socialism, fascism, nationalism, nonviolence, and feminism, as well as various non-Western ideologies. Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) grading is not available. Credit is awarded for only one of POSC 005, POSC 005H, or POSC 007.
