Looks at former Indochinese refugees who are producing literature and films in the United States and France. Examines how "Indochina" has beenconstructed, and in particular, has been gendered female in the colonial imaginary. Explores how Southeast Asian immigrants are returning to the Western gaze. Cross-listed with WMST 122. Fulfills either the Humanities or Social Sciences requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, but not both.
