Prerequisite(s): HIST 010 or HIST 010H (may be taken concurrently), HIST 015 or HIST 015H (may be taken concurrently), HIST 020 or HIST 020H (may be taken concurrently). Covers approaches to interpreting human history on a global scale. Topics include units of analysis, periodization, teleology, source constraints and the impact of modern perspectives. Students may apply course concepts through peer mentoring, presentation in Riverside schools, or a research project.
