Surveys the history of Chicano politics in the United States from Mexican independence in 1821 to the present. Assesses the continuity of the Chicano political tradition through a comparison of the Chicano political experience before and after the establishment of American sovereignty. Fulfills the Humanities requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
