Lecture, 3 hours; discussion, 1 hour. Prerequisite(s): admission to the University Honors Program or consent of instructor. Honors course corresponding to ETST 001. Introduces students to major concepts and controversial issues in the study of race and ethnicity. Provides a general overview of topics covered in more specialized Ethnic Studies courses as well as an introduction to the methodology of scholarly research. Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) grading is not available. Credit is awarded for only one of ETST 001 or ETST 001H. Fulfills either the Humanities or Social Sciences requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, but not both.
