Lecture, 3 hours; laboratory, 3 hours. Prerequisite(s): EE 105 or ME 103 or equivalent; EE 110A or ENGR 118; or consent of instructor. Covers mathematical modeling of linear systems for time and frequency domain analysis. Topics include transfer function and state variable representations for analyzing stability, controllability, and observability; and closed-loop control design techniques by Bode, Nyquist, and root-locus methods. Laboratories involve both simulation and hardware exercises.
