Studies revenues, expenditures, and tax policies of the federal government, focusing on causes and consequences of federal deficit spending. Topics include discretionary and mandatory spending (social security benefits, Medicare, etc.), tax credits and loopholes, debt finance, the life-cycle hypothesis of saving, and the burden of the national debt.
