Prerequisite(s): BIOL 05LA (may be taken concurrently); CHEM 001A and CHEM 01LA with grades of "C-" or better or CHEM 01HA and CHEM 1HLA with grades of "C-" or better; consent of instructor is required for students repeating the course. An intensive course designed to prepare students for upperdivision courses in cell and molecular biology. Covers biochemical, structural, metabolic, and genetic aspects of cells. (Required for Biology majors; recommended for science majors desiring an introduction to biology.) Credit is not awarded for BIOL 005A if it has already been awarded for BIOL 002.
