Lecture, 3 hours; discussion, 1 hour. Prerequisite(s): any lower-division studio art course. A course structured around a sequence of three to six visiting artists, authors, and critics. Visitor presentations will be augmented by relevant articles and in-class presentations. Students generate written and oral responses to specific artists and topics. Artists and topics to be determined by the instructor. Course is repeatable to a maximum of 12 units.
