Lecture, 2 hours; laboratory, 4 hours; individual study, 2 hours. Prerequisite(s): ART 066. Covers intermediate and advanced three-dimensional digital modeling and animation. Emphasis is on creating animated short digital films in the spirit of avant-garde film. Exposes students to contemporary and historical sources of creative animation. Normally graded Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC), but students may petition the instructor for a letter grade on the basis of assigned extra work or examination. Course is repeatable to a maximum of 8 units.
