Explores the history of anthropological representations of culture through film and the debates over the production of ethnographic knowledge. Examines shifts in film from a product of ethnographic research to an object of anthropological inquiry. Studies include horror, war, ethnographic, and indigenous films in relation to race, class, gender, sexuality, and nationhood.
