Because this course serves as preparation for upper-level courses, students are encouraged to take this course immediately after completing the four basic semesters. Students are to acquire grammatical skills beyond intermediate level to prepare them for other upper-level courses. Supporting materials include anthologies of both Spanish and Spanish-American literary works.
