3 credit hours This course introduces students to basic oral communication theories and practices. Students gain appreciation of, and confidence in, effective oral communication. Students apply critical thinking skills in the development of projects in public address, group discussion and interpersonal communication. Specific topics may include: ethical decision making, research techniques, critical listening, visual aid presentation, nonverbal communication, organization and delivery. This course fulfills the speech proficiency requirement.
