3 credit hours Peer Ministry is a leadership model that incorporates communication and caring skills for working with all ages. Students will complete the training, analyze learning and practice approaches so they can train others. Additional study will examine human emotional systems to help students understand communication between individuals and the dynamics of communication within a group. Skills taught include listening, questioning, welcoming another to a group, handling sensitive issues, helping someone make a decision, analyzing processes within relationships, maintaining appropriate boundaries and modeling healthy communication.
