3 credit hours Prerequisite: Spanish 202 or having placed out of 202 through Midland's placement test. This course presents a panorama of literature written in the Iberian Peninsula since the appearance of the first works written in the Spanish language. Studies begin in the 11th century and continue through the Golden Age era to the broad literary and cultural movements from the late eighteenth to the twentieth century: the Enlightenment, Romanticism, Realism, Avant-garde, and Spanish Civil War.
