3 credit hours This course in world community confronts the students with humankind in its diverse and integrative aspects from an evolutionary, ecological, and economic as well as social and cultural perspective, demonstrating the underlying unity and similarity of all people and the common challenges that confront them. The course includes various peoples of the world, in traditional as well as modern societies. The students are made aware of the positive and negative results of contact among nations and gain a perspective on the unity of the world, the interrelatedness of its problems, and the necessity for common solutions.
