3 credit hours Prerequisite: Four CSC courses numbered 160 or above and junior standing. This course focuses on the tools and techniques for the analysis, design, and development of computer systems and includes a writing component while serving as a "W" course. Theemphasis is on the concept of a systems development life cycle (SDLC) and the methods for managing the tasks associated with each phase of the cycle. Students prepare several written reports describing different aspects of the development of a computer system. Written guidelines for these reports are presented and thoroughly discussed in class. Papers are evaluated for form and style as well as content.
