3 credit hours Prerequisite: JOU 220 or JOU 222. This course focuses on the principles and practice of photography as a creative tool of communication. Students will explore the production of photo stories/essays for print publications that demonstrate the importance of the visual image in communicating ideas and information. The course will also include study of photo editing, digital photography, design and layout, and law, ethics and history of photography. The student's final portfolio will show journalistic strength and versatility. Students must have a digital camera on which aperture, shutter speed and focus can be manually adjusted.
