3 credit hours Prerequisite: Junior standing, EDU 220, EDU 260, EDU 296; PSY 200, PSY 210, acceptance into MLC Teacher Education Program, or TEC permission. Upon completion of this course secondary majors will be able to construct and use a variety of student assessment tools, write effective lesson plans, demonstrate a range of instructional methods and techniques, recognize components of successful classroom management, utilize educational technology, prepare for parent-teacher conferences, and describe the standards and ethics governing the teaching profession. This course includes a minimum of twenty-five hours field-based experience in area schools.
