3 credit hours Prerequisite: Junior standing, EDU 250, EDU 294, EDU 296; PSY 200, PSY 210, acceptance into MLC Teacher Education Program, or TEC permission. This course provides an examination of the history of social studies instruction. Upon completion of this course students will be able to identify scope and sequence techniques, select appropriate instructional materials, discuss trends in teaching social studies, create a Nebraska history unit, demonstrate cultural inclusiveness, and utilize educational technology within the social studies curriculum. Serving as the departmental "W" course, each student utilizes a specified format to writea content research paper.
