3 credit hours This participation course introduces the basic skills of photographic art, including camera operation, composition, film processing and printing. The students learn to express themselves and to evaluate their own work through exposure to design, balance, shape, tonal structure and texture. Student works are evaluated according to aesthetic qualities including subject choice, beauty, technical qualities and ethical criteria. Students must have a 35mm camera on which aperture, shutter speed and focus can be manually adjusted.
