3 credit hours This course in world community uses a variety of economic systems to expose the students to the economic diversity that exists on this planet. The students critically analyze current and past economic systems in terms of the theories, philosophies and institutions upon which the world's economic systems are based. Marxist, Islamic, capitalist and socialist economies are examined. Students learn the interdependence of western, non-western and third world communities through the interdependence of their national economies.
