A survey of the development of Southern Baptist Theological thought from its inception in 1845 to the present. This class examines theological trends of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries to grasp the climate out of which Southern Baptists emerged. The course analyzes the topics of Scripture, the person of Christ, salvation (in its relationship to the doctrine of grace), and the church (with special reference to it's nature, its mission, its laity, ordination of its officers, and the individual priesthood of its members). (Prerequisite: THE 3103 Christian Doctrine)
