4 credit hours Prerequisite: Completion of a high school biology course. This course introduces biology majors to study of biology as a process. Students will explore biology at the level of organisms and populations as it relates to homeostasis and physiological systems of organisms, the evolution of life, and ecology. Through lectures, problem-based learning, and inquiry-driven laboratories, students will not only learn information that will serve as a basis for their following coursework, but will become working scientists.
