Through assigned readings, group exercises, Web-site connections, class discussion, and writing assignments, adult learners will be exposed to a comprehensive view of some of the basic building blocks of modern history. They will be given the opportunity to explore the primary divisions of history and significant events while giving attention to significant specific events. This exploration and selected focus will provide the adult learner with an awareness of those significant historical events that have shaped modern society and produced varied expressions of "community."
