This course provides an overview of the mass media, especially the print media. It also offers practical experience in writing, editing, and designing articles for newspapers, magazines, and specialized publications. Emphasis is on advanced skills in news writing, copy editing, photo placement, and caption writing. Course may be repeated for credit as many as three times although students in ENGL 323 or ENGL 423 are expected to complete additional assignments as determined by instructor. Course requirements include participation in the production of The Collegian, the University's online student newspaper. Prerequisite(s): ENGL 123 or consent of instructor. Three Hours, Fall, Spring
