Students will develop skills in writing prose acceptable in academics and in the professions, with emphasis on grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, paragraph development, the writing process, and patterns of essay development. Various selections from expository and imaginative writing will serve as models and as sources for composition topics. Prerequisite(s): ENGL 103 (grade of C or better), ACT English score of 18, TOEFL score of 173 or better on computer-based test (500 or better on paper-based test), or passed proficiency test.
