Prerequisites: COS 302 or COS 479. This course will focus on the design principles of trusted computing bases (TCB). Issues regarding authentication; access control and authorization; discretionary and mandatory security policies; secure kernel design; secure operating systems; and secure databases will be covered from a systems architecture perspective. Emphasis will be on the design of security measures for critical information infrastructures.
