An introduction to the role of the costume designer in the theatre. Emphasis will be placed on developing each student's imagination, creativity, and technique in designing costumes for the theatre. Course work will include consideration of the designer's responsibilities as a visual artist, based on analysis of the script and production concept, development of techniques for analysis, historical research, and rendering. Prerequisites: Theatre 210 and 211, or permission of the instructor. Offered alternate years, 2009-10. Three Credits Bombe Fall Semester
