This course is the first in a series of practice courses in the social work major curriculum. It will focus on the generalist interven- tions process of working with client systems: engagement, assessment, goal setting, intervention planning, contracting, intervention applications, evaluation, and termination. Attention will be given to social work values; ethical decision making; roles of the social worker; and ethnic, racial and gender sensitive practice. Social work majors only. Prerequisite: SWK 241.
