This course is designed to explore the development of self-identity, particularly the ethno-cultural component of Latino children's identity, and its influence on children's cognitive development and their school experiences. This course takes an interdisciplinary approach and includes readings from selected resources in the fields of cross-cultural, social-developmental, educational, and cognitive psychology, as well as sociology, cultural diversity, and fiction and non-fiction literature.
