This course provides an opportunity to apply concepts of evidence-based maternity and women's health nursing care for the woman from menarche through post-menopause. Emphasis will be placed on utilizing a variety of nursing roles in the provision of care to promote or restore optimal health in the childbearing family. This course is a combination of theory and practicum experiences. Theory, two hours per week; practicum, twelve hours per week for a half semester. Prerequisites include admission to the nursing major and Nursing 210 and 255; prerequisites or corequisites include Nursing 242 and 260. Three Credits Barnum Both Semesters
