This course provides an opportunity to apply concepts of evidence-based psychiatric nursing care. Emphasis will be placed on utilizing a variety of nursing roles in the provision of care to promote or restore optimal mental health. This course is a combination of theory and practicum experiences. Theory, two hours per week; practicum, twelve hours per week for a half semester. Prerequisites include admission to the nursing major and Nursing 210, 222 and 255, PSY 100 and 230, and SOC 101. Prerequisites or corequisites include Nursing 242 and 260. Three Credits Walter Both Semesters
