Survey of Western music from the time of the ancient Greeks through the 17th century, including music of the church, court, and theater. Composers to be studied include Hildegard of Bingen, Machaut, Dufay, Josquin, Palestrina, Monteverdi, and Lully. Prerequisite: Music 101, Music 102 or consent of instructor.
