In this course, students will familiarize themselves with cultural, linguistic, and social trends and policies in contemporary French society. Topics include the provinces of France, religion, immigration, the family, politics, and education. A wise variety of sources from historical accounts and newspaper articles to literary works and recent French films, will enable students to sharpen their understanding of current events and become discerning readers of French and international news.
