This course is designed to give health education minors and other students a current perspective on national and state health issues and concerns such as mental health, tobacco use, alcohol and other drug use, prevention of unintentional and intentional injury, community and environmental health, and personal and consumer health. To address these health problems, students will develop skills such as accessing information, analyzing influences, problem solving and decision making, goal setting, advocating, communicating, and other healthy self-management practices.
