This is an interdisciplinary course where students with different academic majors will work in teams to research a local environmental problem. The students will work with faculty members in geological/environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, and possibly other departments in the design of a research project, the collection and interpretation of data, and the making of recommendations. This course is meant to duplicate the process by which scientists work to solve actual environmental problems and is intended as a "capstone"experience for environmental science minors. One two-hour group meeting per week. Additional times to be arranged for consultation, field and laboratory work. Prerequisite: GES 220. Two Credits GES/Biology/Chemistry Staff Fall Semester
