This course provides important coverage of chemical theory and computation by building on prior knowledge to critically explore more complex concepts. The course is designed for students who intend to become professional chemists at the B.S. level or who plan on attending graduate school for an advanced degree. Topics include molecular symmetry and group theory, computational chemistry, and molecular orbital theory. Lecture, 3 hours per week. Prerequisite: Chemistry 231.
