This course introduces students to the discipline of art history by focusing on several case studies, chronologically arranged, to be explored in depth using objects of study as well as primary and secondary sources in a lecture and discussion format. Students will gain experience in critically viewing and writing about art objects and architecture, as well as an understanding of the function of these monuments in a historical and cultural context.
