The Asia-Pacific Rim is one of the most rapidly changing and populous regions of the world, one in which the United States is heavily involved both in trade and militarily, and from which large numbers of our immigrants originate. This introduction to the social organization and development of the region includes description and analysis of the individual countries, and their relationships with each other, the United States, and the rest of the world.
