Current controversies in health care that affect public policy decisions will be discussed in the framework of contemporary literature. Students will be encouraged to frame decisions about these issues in the context of the health professional - patient relationship, health policy, social justice, allocation of scarce resources, professional standards and definitions of the beginning and end of human life.
