This course is designed to acquaint students with the basic clerical skills of a physician office clerk. They will study information flow in the medical office, telephone etiquette, interpersonal sensitivity issues, scheduling, insurance verification, encounter form completion, pre-authorization by insurance company, overview of payors, and an introduction to ICD-9-CM and CPT coding.
